Junior Ekansh Kumar went a perfect 3-0 in singles to lead the men's tennis team at the Joe Hunt Invitational Sept. 13-15. That included wins over Marcel Dawson of Howard (6-2, 6-2), Anargha Ganguly of St. Bonaventure (6-4, 2-0, ret.) and Gryffin Minor (6-3, 6-3). The solid weekend improved Kumar to 5-1 in singles this fall after transferring to Mason from Indiana University. He also picked up a doubles win alongside freshman Shari Saeed, defeating FDU’s Neira/Wrann duo, 6-4.
