Gartland, a native of Rochester, N.Y., tossed a complete-game shutout to lead the Patriots past Dayton, 11-0, on Saturday, April 8 at Spuhler Field.  It was his first collegiate complete game and shutout.

Gartland struck out eight and walked only one and scattered six hits, including five singles in the game. He was selected as the Atlantic 10 Conference Pitcher of the Week.
