Hoyos was named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week. This is his third career POTW selection, first of the season. He also garnered AVCA National Player of the week accolades, the first National honor for a Mason men's volleyball player since 2006.
A native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Hoyos recorded a total of 29 kills, three set assists and four aces across two victories over Fairleigh-Dickinson this past weekend. The outside hitter ranks second in the conference in kills per set (3.47) and sixth in aces per set (0.38). He also aided on the defensive end, with seven blocks (2 solo, 5 assist) and 12 digs.
