Charleston, S.C. – Six George Mason wrestlers finished on the podium as the Patriots squad opened the season at the Battle at The Citadel in Charleston on Sunday.
 
Two Patriots, JT Chance and #18 DJ McGee, finished in the 157-pound championship bout, ending the tournament tied as co-champions.
 
Evan Maag finished in second place at 165 pounds. Maag, ranked #25, won three straight matches, the first two by fall, before dropping the finals match to D. Fields (NC St) by a 14-9 decision.
 
Three Patriots finished in third place, Ben Monn (125), Drew Dickson (165), and Logan Messer (174).
