First-year head coach Jackie Simpson and the women's volleyball staff will host several camps throughout the summer. The summer camps will offer a variety of opportunities for several age groups to learn from the Mason coaching staff. Detailed camp schedules will be available in June. For more information on both the spring clinics and summer camps visit MasonVolleyball.com.
The FUNdamentals Camp is designed to teach volleyball skills to players ranging from fourth grad through eighth. Each two day camp will provide lessons to give athletes a solid foundation of volleyball skills taught in an enjoyable learning environment. Simpson and her staff are also planning a Parent Camp on July 12 to teach volleyball skills to younger players as well as their parents. The camp will allow a fun day of activity allowing players and parents to bond while learning the fundamentals of the sport.
More advanced athletes, grades 8-12, can participate in a variety of camps including a Team Competition Camp and an Elite Camp. Several position specific camps are also scheduled for throughout the summer. Schools can host Satellite Camps to work with all ages.
Jackie Simpson took over as head coach of the George Mason women's volleyball team in February after a year as an assistant coach of the University of Iowa. In her playing days, Simpson was an All-American at the University of Wisconsin.
