The George Mason women's basketball continues Colonial Athletic Association play on the road traveling to Delaware for a Thursday night matchup in the Bob Carpenter Center. The Blue Hens have taken seven of the past nine meetings against the Patriots including a season sweep last year.
Mason is coming off a tough loss on the road at Northeastern on Sunday. Despite holding the halftime lead, Mason could not hold off the Huskies who opened the second half strong to regain the permanent lead. For the season, Rahneeka Saunders paces the Mason offense with a 12.6 points per game average, while Janaa Pickard adds 10.6 ppg. On the glass, the Patriots are led by senior Amber Easter with a 7.4 rebounds per game average.
On a four-game win streak, Delaware opens conference play Thursday night against the Patriots. The Blue Hens are coming off an overtime victory on the road at St. John's led by Elena Delle Donne's game-high 29 points. Delaware has dropped two games at home this season, owning a 4-2 record in the Bob Carpenter Center. Delle Donne leads the Blue Hens on the season averaging a double-double of 23.3 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game, while Lauren Carra also contributes 12.8 ppg on average.
