Coach Curtis Announces New Players for 2011-2012

George Mason Women's tennis head coach Stephen Curtis has announced the addition of three incoming student-athletes to the Patriot's team. The four-member recruiting class consists of Liza Davis (Chris Evert Tennis Academy, Alexandria, Va.), Sara Novakovic (Weil Tennis Academy, Olso, Norway) and Tori Zalewski (Boca Prep's Lions, Boca Raton, Fla.).

"I'm looking forward to the addition of our incoming players," said Curtis. "I expect our overall depth to be much better, which will make a huge difference toward the end of the season and going into the CAA Championships."

Davis is from Alexandria, Virginia but attended the Chris Evert Tennis Academy in Florida. From the Academy, she received the Excelling in Academics and Athletics Award in 2009. She played in many ITF Junior tournaments as well as Challenger events. Winner of multiple Mid-Atlantic tournaments, she had an impressive record over her junior tournament career.

Novakovic is a native of Oslo, Norway but attended the Weil Tennis Academy in California for three years. She played in many ITF Junior tournaments as well as Pro Challenger events and is ranked in the top 40 of her division. Novakovic plans on majoring in Business.

Zalewski attended Boca Prep in Florida where she lettered two years in tennis. She previously attended the International Tennis Academy in Miami. Zalewski has played in multiple ITF Junior tournaments and was ranked 169 nationally in the 16's Division in 2008.

"I am confident that Liza, Sara and Tori are going to be great additions to our Mason family both on and off the tennis court," added Curtis.
