The George Mason men's tennis team was swept by Longwood University on Friday afternoon in Farmville. The Lancers improve to 10-6 on the season while the Patriots fall to 2-8.
Top singles player Brian Fitzgerald played in an exciting match with Carlos Garcia of Longwood, eventually losing 7-5, 0-6, 6-10.
Fitzgerald also played in a competitive doubles match with Dan Schneider, losing 9-7 to Lancers' team of Heird/Lindsley. Mason's No. 2 team defeated their opponent, 8-3 for the Patriots lone win on the day.
The Patriots host Morgan State at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
