Just days after receiving an honor for athletic achievement and weeks after being selected in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, Chris Looze received one final honor from the Colonial Athletic Association as George Mason's first baseman was named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Baseball.

Looze had already received several prestigious honors for academic and athletic accomplishments. The senior was named the 2005 CoSIDA Academic Player of the Year in baseball, the first Patriot to win that national award. He was also a first-team Academic All-American, becoming the second Mason player to receive that award. A biology major, Looze finished his Mason career with a 3.93 grade-point average.

Looze is no stranger to receiving honors. He was second-team All-America in 2004 and three times he was selected All-CAA. Despite playing just three years for the Patriots, he is the school's career record holder in home runs (46) and RBI (201). He is also top 10 in CAA history in both those categories. In 2003, he batted .343 with 15 home runs and 56 RBI. In 2004, he hit .340 with 17 home runs and a school-record 81 RBI. In 2005, he batted .307 with 14 home runs and 64 RBI.

Looze is currently playing for the Pulaski Blue Jays of the Appalachian League, an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays organization.
