2017-18 Non-Conference Schedule (Games Announced So Far)

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball team will head to SEC country this December when the Patriots face off with the Auburn Tigers.
 
Mason and Auburn will battle on Sunday, December 3 inside Auburn Arena.
 
The Tigers return their top-4 scorers from a team that posted an 18-14 record, including a 7-11 mark in SEC play. Auburn also welcomes a recruiting class ranked No. 22 in the nation by Rivals.com and No. 29 by ESPN.com. The team's new additions also include VCU transfer Samir Doughty.
 
The contest will mark Mason's first ever meeting with Auburn. The Patriots last battled an SEC program during head coach Dave Paulsen's inaugural season in 2015-16. Mason defeated Ole Miss, 68-62, in the Charleston Classic on November 19, 2015. Rising Mason juniors Jaire Grayer (15 pts, 3-4 3pt FG) and Otis Livingston II (10 pts, 3 ast) played major roles in the victory over the Rebels.

There are five games left to announce for George Mason's 2017-18 non-conference schedule. That quintet included four homes games and a road game. Check back each week as another contest is revealed.

George Mason put together a turnaround campaign in 2016-17 while putting together the 13th 20-win season in school history. In head coach Dave Paulsen's second season leading the program, Mason set a new program record for Atlantic 10 victories (9) and its 20 overall wins were the most by the program since 2012-13. After winning 11 games total and five A-10 contests in 2015-16, Mason ranked as of the nation's 20 most improved teams this past season. The Patriots return three starters and eight letter winners overall heading into the 2017-18 campaign.
