FAIRFAX, Va. – Saturday's series opener between George Mason University's softball team and the visiting St. Bonaventure was halted due to rain.

The game will be continued at 11 a.m. Sunday, followed by the remaining two games of the series.

The teams managed to get two and a half innings under the constant rain over the George Mason University Softball Complex, in which Mason (16-26, 8-6 A-10) took a 3-1 lead over the Bonnies (10-30, 1-10 A-10).

A walk by freshman centerfielder Mary-Elizabeth Luttrell and a two-RBI single by sophomore second baseman Erin Calpin contributed first-inning runs for the Patriots before the Bonnies scored one themselves in the third inning.
