FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team (18-10, 8-7) wraps up a two-game road swing with a 20-mile trip to George Washington (15-13, 7-8) for a Sunday showdown in Foggy Bottom.
Tip-off between the Patriots and Colonials inside the Smith Center is set for 2 p.m. Sunday's game will be broadcast on Facebook Live. In addition, Bill Rohland will call the game on the A-10 Digital Network, with coverage beginning at 1:45 p.m.
* In a critical A-10 showdown, the Patriots (8-7) and Colonials (7-8) are separated by just one game in the league standings.
* Mason has set a new program record with eight A-10 wins (previous record was 5). The Patriots also have eclipsed their win total from the 2015-16 season (11) by a significant margin. Mason is one of the nation's top-10 most improved teams in comparison to last season's results.
* The Patriots are 17-7 in their last 24 contests.
* Mason is 9-4 combined in road and neutral site contests this season and 9-6 in games played inside EagleBank Arena.
* Last time out, the Patriots could not complete a second half comeback during Tuesday's 83-70 setback at Dayton.

Sunday's game marks the 20th all-time meeting in the Revolutionary Rivalry. GW holds a 17-2 advantage in the series. George Mason and George Washington are separated by just 20 miles. The Patriots are 2-5 against the Colonials at home and 0-12 on the road. GW has captured all seven meetings in A-10 play, including an 87-68 victory on Jan. 25 in Fairfax.

A LOOK AT THE COLONIALS (15-13, 7-8 A-10)
George Washington was picked eighth out of 14 teams in the 2016-17 Atlantic 10 preseason poll. The Colonials posted an 8-5 non-conference record. GW has won three of its past four games. The Colonials rank behind only Mason in A-10 rebounding margin (+5.7). The Colonials are led by graduate student Tyler Cavanaugh, who paces the team in scoring (17.3 ppg), rebounding (8.0 rpg) and is second in assists (2.1 apg). Junior Yuta Watanabe chips in 11.4 ppg and 5.0 rpg, while Seton Hall transfer Jaren Sina leads the team in assists (3.1 apg). Sina also averages 9.3 points and shoots 38.7 percent (53-137) from 3-point territory.
