Mason Madness Photo Gallery

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason Athletic Department held its annual Mason Madness festivities Friday night to kick off the 2017-18 basketball season.

The extraordinary evening featured a performance from the No. 1 pep band in the land - the George Mason Green Machine - as well as routines from the Patriot dance and cheer programs and Mason's Urbanknowlogy group.

In addition, the world famous Red Panda performed her world famous routine, along with a few assists from men's basketball junior Otis Livingston II. Drumming act Peter Rabbit also took to the stage behind big cheers from the more than 3,000 people in attendance.

#MasonNation also met the 2017-18 basketball teams, while enjoying a women's basketball scrimmage and a dunk contest for the men. Redshirt-freshman AJ Wilson captured the dunk contest crown after executing a thunderous over the back jam while jumping over fellow freshman Jack Tempchin.
