FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University men's basketball guard Marquise Moore has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, marking an historic honor for the senior and the program.

Moore becomes the first student-athlete in program history to earn the weekly Atlantic 10 accolade.

Moore averaged 21.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and shot 62.1 percent (18-29) from the floor while leading George Mason to a pair of road wins this past week. The Queens, N.Y., product also shot 85.7 percent from the line and averaged 37.5 minutes/contest. Moore registered the first triple-double in Mason program history Saturday in a 79-60 win at Penn. Moore posted 17 points (7-11 FG), tied his career high with 16 rebounds and dished out a personal best 10 assists in a do-it-all 39 minutes on the floor. He is one of 10 players in the nation to post a triple-double this season. That list includes National Player of the Year candidate Josh Hart of Villanova, Monte Morris of Iowa State and De'Aaron Fox of Kentucky.

In Wednesday's 85-66 victory at Penn State, Moore recorded career bests in points (25) and field goals made (11) while grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds against the Nittany Lions.

The victory at Penn extended Mason's win streak to seven straight games. It's the team's first seven-game victory streak since January 2012. The team is also now 3-0 on the road for the first time since 1985-86. Behind Moore's efforts, Mason out-rebounded both Penn State (44-29) and Penn (41-26) by 15.

Moore and the Patriots return to action Monday (Dec. 12) with a 7 p.m. contest vs. Longwood inside EagleBank Arena.
